Audiences

Audiences bring list building directly into your AI workflows and APIs. Instead of every request returning a one-time answer that disappears when your conversation ends, you can save the companies and contacts your AI discovers into an Audience, a persistent, structured list stored in ZoomInfo.

As your needs evolve, you can continue adding companies and contacts to your Audience, enrich them with firmographic, contact, intent, and other intelligence, and revisit the list across future sessions without repeating the same research.

Example MCP User Query: Find companies in Boston that recently raised funding and create an Audience named "Boston Funded Companies" with the results.

How to use

Audience creation, enrichment and management are supported through both MCP and APIs.

The Audiences API and MCP tools support the complete audience lifecycle through four core capabilities: create audience, define columns and rows, enrich records with ZoomInfo intelligence and data, and optionally organize audiences into folders.

Build Audience (List)

Create and manage the audience that serves as the container for your companies and contacts.

  • Create New Audience - Create a new, empty audience.
  • List Audiences - Browse existing audiences.
  • Get Audience - Retrieve a specific audience.
  • Update Audience - Update audience properties, such as its name or folder.
  • Delete Audience - Remove an audience.

Define Columns & Rows

Define the structure of your audience by adding companies or contacts as rows and the fields you want to capture as columns. These columns determine what data can be populated during enrichment.

You can create custom columns, AI-generated columns, formula-based columns, or ZoomInfo enrichment columns, depending on the type of data you want to capture.

  • Create Columns - Add columns for company name, domain, funding, employee count, and more.
  • Update Column - Modify an existing column.
  • Delete Column - Remove a column.
  • Get Column Dependencies - View dependencies before modifying a AI-Powered column.
  • Bulk Upsert Rows - Insert or update multiple rows in a single request.
  • List Rows - Retrieve all rows in an audience.
  • Get Row - Retrieve a specific row.
  • Delete Rows - Remove one or more rows.

Enrich Audience

Populate your audience columns with ZoomInfo data and intelligence. Once your records are matched, enrich them with company, contact, intent, news, scoops, and other supported data. Enrichment runs as a background job, which you can monitor until completion.

  • Enrich Audience - Enrich matched rows with firmographic data, contacts, intent, news, scoops, and other supported intelligence.
  • Get Job Status - Monitor the progress of long-running enrichment jobs.
  • Upsert Match Criteria - Configure how audience columns map to ZoomInfo attributes. ZoomInfo can automatically infer the mappings using AI if none are provided. For example, map Email column to the Contact_Email ZoomInfo attribute.

Organize Audience

Use folders to organize and manage audiences by campaign, region, team, or any custom category. Assign an audience to a folder by specifying the folderId when creating or updating an audience.

  • Create Folder - Create a new folder, with the option to mark it as a favorite.
  • List Folders - Browse all folders.
  • Get Folder - Retrieve details for a specific folder.
  • Update Folder - Rename or modify a folder.
  • Delete Folder - Remove a folder.
